Science and Technology Sector
Education-wise, the science and technology sector is made up of the Faculty of Science, the Louvain Polytechnical School, the Faculty of Biology, Agronomy and Bioengineering and the brand new Faculty of Architecture, Architectural Engineering and Urbanism.
Whether in abstract formulas or concrete situations, the researchers in the science and technology sector imagine and design our future: water supplies, rural economy, nanotechnology, etc. They are organised in six institutes: the Institute of Life Sciences, the Institute of Mechanics, Materials and Civil Engineering, the Institute of Mathematics and Physics, the Earth and Life Institute, Institute of Condensed Matter and Nanosciences and the Institute for Information and Communication Technologies, Electronics and Applied Mathematics.
